Privacy Policy

BetterFlip is an invited-beta financial management and responsible gambling service. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and how you can request deletion.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide when creating and using an account, including your name, email address, support messages, goals, budgets, and feedback. We also collect product usage events and session metrics associated with an internal user ID.
Bank and transaction data
When you choose to connect a financial account, BetterFlip uses Plaid Link to establish the connection. We receive account details, balances, and transaction history through Plaid. BetterFlip never receives or stores your bank login credentials.
Language-model processing
BetterFlip sends financial transaction descriptions and amounts to language models through OpenRouter for transaction categorization, insight generation, and the Omega assistant. This means financial transaction content leaves BetterFlip's infrastructure for those purposes. Do not include information in an Omega message that you do not want processed in this way.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide account aggregation, budgets, goals, transaction categorization, insights, and Omega features;
- authenticate accounts and send service communications;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the beta;
- understand product usage and session performance; and
- respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.
Service providers and subprocessors
We disclose data only as needed to operate the service. Our current subprocessors are:
- Plaid — bank connection, account balances, and transaction history. See Plaid's end-user privacy policy.
- Google — optional account sign-in and the identity data you authorize Google to share.
- OpenRouter — routing transaction content to language models for categorization, insight generation, and Omega.
- Resend — transactional email, including verification, password reset, and invited-cohort communications.
- PostHog — behavioral product events and session metrics identified by BetterFlip's internal user ID.
- Convex — application database and application backend. Plaid access tokens are encrypted at rest.
- Railway — web application hosting.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
Data retention and deletion
To leave the beta or request deletion, email support@betterflip.com from the address associated with your account. We will action the request within the beta support SLA. Deletion covers removal of your Plaid item, purge of stored financial data, and suppression of further email communications except records we must retain for legal or security purposes.
Security
We use access controls, encrypted transport, and service-provider security controls appropriate to an invited beta. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their processing is governed by their terms, privacy notices, and applicable data-protection safeguards.
Children
BetterFlip is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
Invited beta and policy changes
BetterFlip is in invited beta. This policy may change as the product and its providers change. We will communicate material changes to cohort members by email and update the effective date above.
